About MedActionPlan.com, LLC
Using technology to empower patients
MedActionPlan.com™ was created in 2000 by Tim Peters. For over 25 years, Tim Peters and Company has been creating outstanding, humanized medical education programs and materials for doctors and their patients. Rapid advances in information technology were making it possible for patients and healthcare providers to partner in new ways. The new company, MedActionPlan.com, would focus on using the internet and other technology to empower patients and make them full partners in their own healthcare.
MedActionPlan.com has focused initially on medication adherence. Despite huge advances in pharmaceutical technology, people don’t always benefit, because they fail to take their medications on time or in the right doses.
HIV and Organ Transplantation are two areas in which a failure to adhere has dire consequences. To address this, MedActionPlan.com developed a family of powerful web-based applications that allow healthcare professionals to create, save and print illustrated medicine charts for their patients. Both MedActionPlan for Organ Transplant and MedActionPlan for Antiretroviral Therapy receive grant support from the pharmaceutical industry that allows them to be offered free-of-charge on MedActionPlan.com’s website.
Pack-m-Ups™… for people on the go

In developing the Visual Med Schedulers, Peters and his team worked closely with healthcare professionals and patients to better understand the factors that get in the way of adherence. Out of this work came the idea for Pack-m-Ups. “During field-testing, we saw patients come in with pills in brown paper bags,” said Peters. “It just seemed as though people needed a better way to organize medications when they were on-the-go. Our field research showed that patients did have many complaints about the medicine organization systems on the market. They were bulky, had a rigid design, were awkward to carry, and were either hard-to-open, or popped open unexpectedly.” Pack-m-Ups were designed to address these problems and meet the needs of today’s mobile lifestyle.
Pack-m-Ups feature a secure press-and-seal closure. This makes it easy for patients to open and close the airtight, moisture-resistant pill compartments. They are made from a durable, transparent plastic, so patients can view their medications at a glance. The surface can be personalized with a marker or pen. Perforated sections allow users to organize their pill regimens for daily or weekly consumption. The pill compartments fold over so they fit easily into a pocket or purse. Pack-m-Ups fit today's busy lifestyles and are an important tool to help people take their medications and stay healthy.
